Patrick Lynch and Alison Riggott formed The Healing Light Ministry after a pilgrimage to Medjugorje in 2005
Alison had a powerful experience of receiving the Holy Spirit into her life 29 years ago and has been involved in the charismatic movement ever since, until recently resigning as Diocesan coordinator to devote herself full time to The Healing Light Ministry.
She prays with discernment, sometimes receiving a Word of Knowledge as to what to pray for, or feels the need, or "sees" the need in the face of the other.
Patrick has been involved in prayer for healing for several years, but his prayer took on a new understanding after his own recovery from cancer in 2000. At this time he dedicated his life to Our Lady and Jesus for them to use him as they chose..
When they pray with someone together, they are used in an extraordinarily powerful way. Patrick can physically feel the pain of another in his own body, and knows the area of the body that requires prayer through the heat or tingling felt in his fingers and this is confirmed by Alison thought her special gifts.
The pain or illness manifests itself through Patrick's body - shaking in his hands and limbs - sometimes he takes the pain from the other and a bruise, swelling or actual pain remains for a while in his own body.
During emotional healing he shows the emotional pain physically and Alison discerns and explains what is happening.
As they pray, they take the pain and present it to Jesus on the Cross, and are then often asked to share in Jesus sufferings for a while
They pray through the intercession of Our Lady and St (Pardre) Pio
They are both used, as is so often the case, to pray for people with needs which they have personally experienced, they cover quite a lot between them! addiction, relationship problems, cancer, back and leg pain, abdominal pain, depression, fertility, children, family, and emotional pain.
During their healing prayer they offer thanks to the Lord for making them channels of His Healing, Love, Compassion and Peace. As a result of prayer. God grants restored health of mind and body to some, to others he grants inner healing and new freedom in the Spirit, while to others he grants interior grace to unite their suffering with the sufferings of Christ. The message for all of us is a message of great hope.
Healing in the name of Jesus is all in the giving, giving freely and expecting no reward. Giving for the sake of giving. Giving God's healing, flowing through our emptiness.
Alison and Patrick give as the flowers breathe their fragrance into empty space. Through their hands God speaks and from behind their eyes He smiles upon those who seek their help.
